Queen Victoria

I was booked yesterday to photograph the plaque exchange ceremony onboard Cunard’s Queen Victoria and some of the quay entertainment provided for visitors but I didn’t know I was going to end up on a Royal visit, documenting a ship’s tour for Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall!  I’ve only been on a royal visit once before and it was a similar 50 minutes of madness, learning how to walk backwards taking photos, trying not to get in anybody’s way, listening out for anybody who’s telling you were to go and not knowing where you’re heading which in itself is pretty difficult when you’re heading backwards! Good fun though and needless to say the ship is pretty spectacular. Aside from that, it was a pretty grim day, weather wise, but it was great seeing the visitors putting up with the rain and singing along and dancing to the sounds of the Liverpool Ukelele Orchestra who not only impressed the tourists but they even got an invite off the Lord Mayor to come to the Town Hall for tea & cakes!!
