Yesterday was a music, more music and photography sort of day which kicked off with a press and artwork photo session in stunning early morning light, on the backstreets of the city centre, with Liverpool folk singer Rob Clarke and ended up with a great documentary on Bothy Ballad singing. Along the way, I spent the day editing through some photographs of The Liverpool Phil as well as yesterday’s session with Rob and then at night went to the O2 Academy to photograph John Lydon’s PIL who I was never really a fan of and last night didn’t change anything either. Nothing wrong with any of it I suppose, and there were a few songs I remembered and did quite like but I was 10 when the Sex Pistols started releasing records and PIL are just one those bands that passed me by and I think I only stuck around for a while because I find John Lydon funny and entertaining at times but after an hour of it I decided it was time to go home and wash the 50 year old spit out of my hair! Yep, his fans haven’t grown up either! I was also looking forward to watching the Liverpool Phil at The Proms on BBC2 which was on last night but wasn’t listed in ‘in demand’ when I got home so I’ve still got that one to look forward to!
